Today's blurb is brought to you from Jo the Letterer.

I've always loved the bits like today's page in fiction. I can remember reading the Famous Five as a child and inwardly bemoaning the fact that the fun sunny picnics and bike rides would have to give way to smugglers, kidnapping and adventure. I've grown up a bit now, but I still enjoy these little moments in a story where the characters can take a breath and show you a little of what they're really like.

It's been a while since I've done the blurb. Not since midway through Issue #1. I'm pretty sure all long-term readers will agree with me that Dark Red has really taken off since then. Always visually distinctive, Issue #1 had too much introducing to do to really dive in to the plot. But now we have a solid base, and Lynn's really used that to get the comic moving. If Issue #1 was the story of Sarah discovering (or re-discovering) the mystical world, then in Issue #2 it is our turn. Special effects no longer only occur in Sarah-vision, and demons are harder to scare away by swinging a stick at them. Harder, but as Sarah proved last page, not impossible!

Behind the scenes, Lynn and Matthew and I are continuing to work on Dark Red. Lynn may not be blurb-ing or blogging much, but but we're still working on some fantastic pages (and she's terrifyingly good at the rubiks cube, too!).

Thanks for reading, and I'll be back again sometime, perhaps next time in my character-guise as the Heavenly Being.

Until then, be safe.

Jo
