(Melita and Iain talk in his place, the annex of the higher realm belonging to the Touchstone.)

Panel 1

(Iain and Melita are transported to another place — a valley in the sunshine surrounded by mountains. They are still holding hands. There is a lake behind them.)

Melita: It's true then, you are the Touchstone.

Iain: You don't know what that means. Neither does Daniel.

Melita: Only you can verify the truth of a human premonition and only you have access to this higher sphere.

Panel 2

(Iain looking slightly fierce. You can see a line of trees behind him. In fact you can see through Iain and Melita. They are both bathed in glowing auras. Iain's aura is light green and Melita's purple/pink.)

Iain: What use is that? We're just pawns in this war. Shit, I sound just like him! But I FINALLY have a chance for stability. And I'm not giving it up.

Panel 3

(He looks round and throws up a hand in a dismissive gesture.)

Iain: And you know what, everyone's important. I am NOT the be all and end all of importantness. I'm fed up with it AND I'm fed up with not being allowed to fight back.

Panel 4

(You see Melita from behind Iain's head.)

Melita: I wish I could help. Wait! A decision is being reconsidered and you will get your wish.

Iain: You speak…

Panel 5

(Side shot of them both.)

Iain: …truth. Well, that's good to know. I wonder why Daniel's changed his mind.

Melita: We may never find that out. There was something I wanted to ask you. Sarah's so headstrong, she might not tell me.

Panel 6

(From behind Melita's head.)

Melita: How is she really?

Iain: She's up and down, but coping mostly. It's odd. She pushes it out of her mind, and thinks of other stuff. She must be made of steel or something.

Panel 7

(Close up of Melita.)

Melita: Please look out for her? I shielded her for as long as I could. But I've let her down. She's not hidden from the world anymore. It's hidden from her.
