Hi Everyone!

It's more of the delicious Bella today. Looking evil and nasty in a totally gorgeous and hot way. And the innocent being from heaven is played by our own letterer Jo. I was completely blown away by how great an actor she is, she looked so scared and vulnerable. To tell you the truth I'm really impressed with the acting talents in all my cast. They make my comic come to life.

One of the problems with this shoot was that the walls reflected huge amounts of yellow light and it was hard to get the angles I wanted because of that. I ran around lots and got the shots eventually. Isn't that always the way. Just when you think you've got the hang of a section of it, other technical problems rear up. I feel that even more experimenting and reading is in order. Thank goodness for paintshop.

I love the lettering on panel four. Also, the effects on this page were fun to do. I'm getting really into the art this week in general. Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to 'render my little heart out', so I can get time for my other projects and for writing issues 2, 3 and 4. There was a secret Dark Red plot meeting recently. And things are starting to look very exciting. That's just between you and me. ;)

The reason I'm having to work so hard at the art is that the buffer zone of 8 pages fell down to 4 recently. It was because of working on the hard copy for so long and my holiday. But I'm determined to get back on the horse. I liked that zone, it made me feel safe. And I want it back. Apologies to Jo though, she's already had two pages this week and I'm planning to do another at the weekend. Then next week if things go well, I'll do another three. We'll see.

This is a long post, but there's so much to talk about. I've got my sample copy back today. It was so amazing to hold my own comic book in my hands I don't think I could even try to explain it. There are a couple of bits to tweak, then I'm ready for a larger run. I may try that tonight if I feel like it. This weekend promises to be fun, there's lots of stuff going on!

One last thing- Happy Birthday Lauren!! Hope you have a good one next week. :D
