Issue #1 Page 27 - Closing Thoughts

(Anders, Iain and Sarah prepare to leave the Maze.) Panel 1 (Iain stands up, discarding the blanket and Daniel hands him his bikers' jacket.) Iain: Teaspoons at ten paces it is. Daniel: Very wise. We'll talk more when you're rested. Panel 2 (Iain puts his jacket on and Daniel stands up. You can see everyone round the door.) Anders: Yeah, we'll hang out soon. Iain: Let's hope this sanity isn't just a passing phase. I'd love for life to be boring for once. Daniel: I've fond memories of being bored. Panel 3 (Iain has headed towards the door and is facing away from us. He's holding his left-hand up to catch something behind him. Daniel is in the process of swinging his hand up to thrown Iain his keys. There is a motion blur on Daniel's arm as it swings up. Sarah is looking on.) Iain: Looking forward to it. Daniel: You'll need these. Panel 4 (Close up of Daniel's hand in the foreground after he's thrown the keys. Motion blur on the keys as they move towards his hand. There is also a faint outline of the keys just before Iain catches them neatly without looking.) Spx: Clink! Iain: My spare keys. Thanks! Panel 5 (Head close up of Sarah with her eyebrows raised. She's looking surprised and to the left off panel towards Iain who has left the Maze.) Sarah: Show off! Iain: Come on Sarah. Your chariot awaits. Panel 6 (Daniel is waving out the door of the Maze.) Panel 7 (Close up of Daniel looking up slightly and thoughtful his hand is resting on the door.) Daniel: Another one, possibly two, for our side. Issue #1 Page 27 - Closing Thoughts

Hello All!
Although this looks like the last page of Issue #1, do not despair. There's another two pages to go.
The throwing of the keys on this page used to be done using action lines. I got rid of them. I've got a couple of art buddies who are helping me refine the art side of things, and they mentioned that action lines are for a more comic style. We talked a bit about it and I eventually agreed. Blur is the way to go for us. And although I really love the panel three blur, panel four is just okay. To my mind anyway.
But I like the odd disjointed dialogue that happens as you're leaving somewhere. People calling out things as you're leaving. That's what I was trying to capture here. And I love that last panel. Rhys is a brilliant actor.
I'm rapidly discovering that making a hard copy paper comic book is no easy thing. Although I said this last week I really mean it this time. I should be finished in the next couple of days. And then I will get into Issue #2, I'm a little behind schedule now.
We were reviewed recently by Panel2Panel. Thought you might like to check it out. I'm quite chuffed with it. And that reminds me, I'll need to get out the friends and cohorts for the next photoshoot.
