Welcome to the forum for Dark Red, Glasgow's latest and best webcomic (as far as I know).

This is the place where you say hello, introduce yourself and tell us a bit about you.

Feel free to browse the website, look at the previous comic pages and the gallery and nick stuff off of the freebies page if you want. There is generally current news about Dark Red in my weblog and under the latest comic page.

Lastly, I hope you enjoy Dark Red, tell you're friends about it and hopefully I'll see you on the forum sometime.

Cheers,
Lynn

To kick things off, I'm Lynn, I'm the writer and artist for Dark Red.

I live and work in Glasgow, which is also known as 'The Dear Green Place.' I'm totally new to the world of comics and I'm having a great time doing Dark Red. Learning all the time which is something I like.

I love gadgets and odd things, books, graphic novels, particulary Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I've studied science in the past and love old myths.

I just wish I had more time.
:)

Howdy all, Lauren here... *tips hat and extends hand politely*...

Although I'm fairly new to the world of webcomics what I lack for in knowledge i make up for in enthusiasm. Hmm... To sum me up!

I like:

Music. Books. Art. Films. Piercings. Random hair colours. Tattoos. Black nailpolish. Eye makeup - EYELINER. Sitting in the park on sunny days. Being a night person. Being a morning person when it's sunny and it suits me. Photographs. Black and white. Comfy trainers. The cold side of the pillow. Hotpants and boxers. Driving anywhere outside of a city. The beach. Old games consoles. Being motivated. Being a bit of a geek. When people don't care what other people think of them. Cleanliness. Being a contradiction at times. Lists.

I dislike:

Arrogance. Most chart music unless I'm pissed and want to dance. That there are never enough hours in the day. Complete trend followers. The wind. Being too warm. Anyone intruding on my personal space. Mushrooms. Being told to pull my jeans up. Judgemental people. Being skint. That cider has so many calories. Being bored. Sainsburys stealing my soul. The dark when I want to sleep. Having dirty hands.

That was slightly heftier than I intended...*cough*...

:)

x.

Heeeey!!

It's so cool to see you around here. I love that picture of you btw. :)

You're the only person I know to recognise all the outdoor locations in the comic right away. Honestly that was cool. We'll be putting up a new page this Friday. So not much more waiting.

It's great to see you here. I hope you hang out more.

Lynn

Woo, new page! Good stuff. I'll look forward to it. :D

It was just weird because I like taking little back ways to places and seeing things from different perspectives and all the places were ways I'd walked to work, or uni, or just dawdled along for sheer nosiness...Was brilliant seeing things and relating them though!

Just you wait. You won't be able to get rid of me...

I've been shamelessly promoting the comic and forum on myspace and bebo...so here's hoping some internet whores decide to come take a look and appreciate it!

I always like shameless promoting. I'm just getting the hang of it myself, unfortunately I don't get the time I need so it's great when someone else does if for me.

"Roll up, roll up and look at my stuff!!"

I have no intention of getting rid of you. :D

*staples you to forum floor*

Heh.

Good stuff.

Which is good, cause I can talk to you much better on here anyway, seeing as you tend to be leaving work when I arrive, leaving only that brief five minute overlap to shout things at you while serving customers before you do your shopping and leave...

*makes personal ass groove in forum*

We shall have no "ass groves" on the forum please. They are a bugger to clean and reshape when the site gets its annual clean. :D Welcome and don't mind me.

Clean the site? Oh no, not more stuff to do.

I'll get a breakfast bar and paint the walls bright blue and yellow. ;)

We should probably move this chat to a different thread.

I'll post up one later tonight.

:D

That's it, I'm off - bright blue and yellow - ugh :P
unless you keep a dark shadowy corner... and some burbon biscuits...

oh and as we're all introducing ourselves, I'm Tess.
I noticed this wonderful creative contraption come on line for page one and have been hooked on my friday fix ever since. No idea what I will do if here is a gap between issues 1 and 2.

I'm not from Glasgow and I'm not an afficionado of goth artwork or manipulated photography, I can't act and have no skill with props.

I'm a web developer / designer from Herefordshire (home of the Mappa Mundi and good cider) and all my photos tend to be shots of obsure british wild plants or very occasionaly holiday snaps of the hubby.

So I'm looking forward to seeing how the story develops and finding out how fast I can buy a hard copy of issue 1. It's going to look fab on the shelf in between 'High Cost of Living' and 'Neverwhere'.
